The City of Albuquerque’s Youth & Family Services Department, through its Community Recreation and Educational Initiatives (CREI) Division, is proud to host the 8th Annual Cruzin’ Into the School Year event on Saturday, August 2, 2025!
This exciting and beloved community event brings together students, families, and neighbors in a fun, relaxed atmosphere—while delivering real support where it counts. The mission of the event is simple yet powerful:
To spark a love of learning, boost student confidence, and ease the financial burden for families by providing free backpacks, essential school supplies, resources, and vital services to help kids thrive in the classroom and beyond.

This year, the CREI Division is teaming up with the One Albuquerque Fund to raise $2,000 to fill the gap for additional school supplies and expand our reach to even more students across the city.
